Dearest Friends of the University of Iowa,
I have directed you to this online donation page because I want to dance for life, and For The Kids. Everyday, forty-six children and their families are diagnosed with pediatric cancer. Although the survival rate is increasing, one out of every four children will not survive five years past their diagnosis. On February 3rd and 4th at the University of Iowa Memorial Union, I will take a stand against pediatric cancer for 24-hours with no caffeine and no sleep.
This February will be my first year participating in Dance Marathon, a 24-hour event where people from Iowa City raise money for the Pediatric Oncology Unit at the University of Iowa's Children Hospital. The University of Iowa’s Dance Marathon has financially and emotionally supported over 500 children and their families battling pediatric cancer and also funds state of the art research.
I participate in Dance Marathon because I want to make a difference in the lives of children afflicted with cancer. Dance Marathon is much more then the money we raise, it's about the love and devotion the dancers have during the year and at the event. I am very grateful to have the honor and privilege to be a participant in the best organization on campus! As a Dancer, I will need to raise at least $400.00 to be a participant in Dance marathon. You can help make a difference by donating today to create hope, to celebrate the fight and to make miracles happen for pediatric oncology patients battling cancer.
Here is my request today: Please help make a difference by donating any amount desired to Dance Marathon under my name, Karima Safsaf. Your donation enables me to dance for life on February 3rd and 4th. Do it For the Kids.
